I think they say in the article these would still be too slow for manned Mars missions, but should be ok for cargo.
Do they mean manned flights?
Not sure about power required... If a set of 13-kilowatt Hall thrusters will be used, could solar cell energy system ensure the power? The question of mass and size of solar panels...
